What is this recruitment?
Indian Oil Corporation Limited (IOCL) released Advertisement IOCL/MKTG/WR/APPR/2026-27 dated 5 October 2026 for Trade, Technician and Graduate Apprentices under the Apprentices Act. Online applications opened 5 October and close 4 November 2026, 5:00 pm. The apprenticeship lasts 12 months; it is training, not a guaranteed permanent government job. Stipend follows the applicable apprenticeship rules.
Who can apply? Eligibility by training type
- Technician apprentices (codes 101–106): three-year, full-time, regular diploma in the matching engineering discipline such as Mechanical, Electrical, Instrumentation, Civil, Electrical & Electronics or Electronics. Typical minimum 50% aggregate for General/EWS/OBC-NCL and 45% for reserved SC/ST/PwBD positions.
- Trade apprentices – fitter/electrician/electronics/instrument/machinist (codes 107–111): matriculation plus the prescribed two-year regular ITI trade from a recognized NCVT/SCVT institution.
- Graduate apprentice (code 112): regular, full-time BA/B.Com/B.Sc/BBA graduate meeting the notified percentage rules.
- Data entry operator (codes 113–114): Class 12 (below graduate level) with minimum qualifying marks; code 114 also requires the relevant recognized skill certificate.

Which states are included — and excluded?
Advertised training locations are Maharashtra, Gujarat, Goa, Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh and the Union Territory areas of Dadra & Nagar Haveli and Daman & Diu. Do not select a training location outside those advertised areas: IOCL says doing so will cause rejection. The notice describes eligible training-location choices; it does not establish that every applicant must already be domiciled in those states. Check the relevant state vacancy on NAPS/NATS before selecting it.
Who is not eligible?
The notice excludes applicants with part-time/correspondence/distance-mode qualifications for the notified disciplines. It also explicitly excludes people possessing or completing higher professional qualifications such as B.E./B.Tech, MBA, MCA, CA/ICWA or LLB before joining. Candidates outside the prescribed age or passing-year window, applicants for an unadvertised state/location, and applicants who fail to meet trade-specific qualifications are not eligible. Previous apprenticeship can also affect eligibility under the notified rules.
Documents required
Have an active mobile/email, Aadhaar, PAN, bank account details and cheque/passbook, educational mark sheets and final certificate, date-of-birth proof, valid reservation/disability documents if applicable, and medical-fitness documents when requested.
